Farnham, We Need Your Voice
Information current as of 6 June 2026
For over 30 years, our customers have parked safely and easily while visiting Bourne Buildings, in a car park we shared use of with our neighbours the Bourne Mill Antiques Centre. Recently, access has been restricted and signs installed by the Landlord, the Owner of Bourne Mill Antiques, specifically deterring Bourne Buildings customers from using the carpark, these signs include the wording ‘trespassers will be prosecuted’, which has understandably caused concern for some visitors — Despite 30 happy years of access, working side by side in harmony, this change has had a disappointing impact on neighbourliness, kindness and community spirit, and it has affected our small family business, local families, local jobs, and ultimately Farnham’s beloved Shed Santa.

It has been reported to us, that the landlord (and owner) of Bourne Mill Antiques has approached visitors in the shared car park to tell them they can't park there, which has understandably caused confusion, especially as many visitors support both businesses. We understand this has caused concern, and we sincerely apologise to anyone who felt uncomfortable as a result. We also want to thank our wonderful customers who have continued to visit us as normal — your support, understanding and good humour mean the world to us.

We firmly believe we have long-standing rights to use the car park, and our legal team is actively addressing the situation.
To reassure you: the claims that you are not permitted to park there are incorrect.

We will continue to keep our customers updated, and we remain committed to providing a welcoming, friendly environment for everyone who visits Bourne Buildings and most importantly guaranteeing the future of Shed Santa and the joy and hapiness he brings to the thousands of people who pass by the Shepherd & Flock roundabout each December.
