WHY ALTON
If anyone knows how to make the perfect greenhouse, it’s Alton. They have been manufacturing them in the heart of England since 1921, they were the first manufacturer to produce a domestic greenhouse.

THE BEST MATERIALS
Only the best Western Red Cedar, supplied from renewable sources, is used for Alton greenhouses. It’s a material which doesn’t shrink, swell or warp excessively, even when subjected to changes in temperature and moisture. Plus it’s virtually immune to decay. It has excellent insulating qualities, reducing energy costs in winter months, and its pleasant aroma is a natural repellent to moths, insects and vermin.

Alton’s cedar is supplied only from certified sources providing evidence of sustainable forestry management. Suppliers have been awarded chain of custody to track the cedar from leaving the forest to reaching our factory. When compared to other greenhouse materials, the renewable and sustainable sources of cedar used in our greenhouse frames ensure your Alton greenhouse truly is an environmentally friendly purchase.

INSTALLING YOUR GREENHOUSE
We recommend you prepare a full concrete base or a perimeter footing of concrete or paving slabs for your greenhouse to stand on. It is essential that any base is firm and level as even though an Alton greenhouse has concrete base kerbs, a stable, level base for your greenhouse helps prevent the wood from coming into contact with damp soil and helps overcome any problems opening and closing the door.

YOUR TEN YEAR GUARANTEE
If any part of the Cedar framework of your greenhouse rots or decays within ten years of purchase, Altons will replace it promptly and free of charge. This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights.

ALPINEHOUSE The Alpinehouse (6' x 8') has been designed by professional alpine growers and is especially suitable for all plants that require extra light and ventilation. With a total of 24 windows positioned around its octagonal greenhouse shape, the ventilation possibilities are endless! The door can be positioned either to the left or the right and can be opened 180° for easy access. The Alpinehouse also includes staging on three sides and high level shelving on two sides so there’s plenty of space for all your plants.

AMATEUR GREENHOUSE Alton Amateur wooden greenhouses are as individual as your needs. Available in three widths, from 6'5"(1.95m) to an impressive 10' (3.04m), it comes in seven standard lengths - and it can be extended if required. The wide sliding door and kerb-less threshold make for easy wheelchair or wheelbarrow access and double doors are available as an option on the 10’0” (3.04m) wide model.

AMATEUR LEAN-TO When space is limited or you have a convenient spare wall (ideally south-west facing), Alton Amateur cedar lean-to greenhouses are an ideal solution. With a width of 7’ (2.13m), Amateur Lean-To greenhouses are available in seven standard lengths and can be extended if you wish. The wide sliding door can be fitted at either end and, like all Amateur Greenhouses, the sides of the Amateur cedar Lean-to greenhouse are sloped to catch the low-angled winter sun.

TRADITIONAL GREENHOUSE Now available in 6’5” (1.95m) and a new 7'7" (2.31m) width, Alton Traditional wooden greenhouses are available in seven different standard lengths (extension modules available) and boast impressive ridge heights of 6’10½” (2.10m) and 7'1½” (2.17m) respectively for more comfortable greenhouse gardening. The greenhouse sides are vertical, giving plants maximum growing space whilst taking up the minimal footprint, and exclusive Alton Ventaccess low-level vents, featured as standard on this model, increase the air flow throughout the greenhouse resulting in healthier plants.

TRADITIONAL DWARF GREENHOUSE Alton Traditional Dwarf Wall greenhouses are the newest model in the Alton greenhouse range and are available in two widths and seven standard lengths. With a 6ft eaves height, these greenhouses are also the tallest in the Alton range and are ideal for taller gardeners who wish to greenhouse garden in comfort. To complement your house and garden, simply choose what kind of bricks or stone you want your wall made from and Alton will provide you with the necessary plans and drawings for you or your builder to work from.

TRADITIONAL LEAN-TO When space is limited, the Traditional Lean-to greenhouses are just 5 feet wide and make an ideal solution as they include a host of greenhouse features such as ventilation options, guttering etc. The vertical sides easily accommodate high level storage, making this model ideal for propagating young plants. It’s also very cost-effective to heat as your wall warms up during the day and then slowly releases heat back into the greenhouse during the night.

THE OCTAGONAL COLLECTION
If you’re looking for something a bit different, the distinctive style of the Octagonal range of greenhouses will suit any garden setting, and their elegant yet compact shape will provide a beautifully proportioned and attractive growing space.
Available in four sizes, the Octagonal greenhouse range also includes the Alpinehouse which has been specially designed for growing plants that require extra light and ventilation.
Alton Octagonal greenhouses are available in green and white painted finishes as well as the natural Golden Honey finish.

OCTAGONAL 6' X 6' The smallest Octagonal greenhouse, the 6 x 6 still offers a surprisingly large growing space thanks to its 6ft plus eaves height that's ideal for the taller gardener. Include staging and high level shelving on all sides and you’ll be surprised how much you can fit in. As with all our Octagonal Greenhouses, you can now choose whether to have the lower panels cedar paneled or glazed.

OCTAGONAL 6' X 8' The extra width offered by Alton's 6 x 8 Octagonal Greenhouses opens the doors to all sorts of possibilities. With optional double doors, you can create an opening that enables easy wheelchair or wheelbarrow access. The roof is also wide enough to accommodate a roof vent and the extra width provides more space for growing. Like all Alton Octagonal greenhouses the 6x8 benefits from an eaves height over 6ft, meaning less crouching and more comfortable gardening even for the tallest gardeners.

OCTAGONAL 8' X 8' Apart from its impressive size, the most notable feature of Alton's 8 x 8 Octagonal greenhouses is probably the specially designed ‘lantern’ on the roof which funnels heat out at the highest point, allowing fresh air to be drawn in at a lower level. Containing two automatic roof vents, it not only provides extra ventilation but looks great, too. Choose either the ‘glass to ground’ option or have the lower panels clad with cedar. Cedar staging and shelving can be positioned on all sides to help you make the most of this impressive greenhouse.

OCTAGONAL 8' X 11' If space is not an issue and you are looking for a stunning addition to your garden, Alton's 8 x 11 Octagonal greenhouses provide the answer. Like the 8 x 8, it includes a distinctively designed lantern and can be glazed throughout. To ensure the best possible ventilation, this model includes two automatic roof vents, two manual side windows and two low-level manual louvre vents with further ventilation options also available.
